The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) reached an agreement in New Delhi on May 18 to host bilateral talks in Taipei in October on business cooperation.
Since the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding in January, there have been many events lined up for Taiwan and India to take part in together for mutually beneficial development.
The inaugural TAITRA-ITPO meeting will allow Taiwanese and Indian businesses to explore opportunities to work together and strengthen industry cooperation.
Meanwhile, ITPO will attend upcoming TAITRA events and will assist TAITRA with the Smart Asia 2018 show it will host in October in Bengaluru.
According to Walter Yeh, President and CEO of TAITRA, trade between Taiwan and India grew by 27 percent to US$6.3 billion last year. Mr. Yeh said there is infinite room for growth based on the potential for cooperation between the two countries.
